Falcons Lacrosse Stuns Northmont in 9-8 Thriller

By Brian Carey | Apr 8, 2026 6:18 PM

Clinton-Massie Lacrosse picked up a statement win Tuesday night, knocking off a strong Northmont team 9-8 in a gritty, back-and-forth battle. Facing an opponent they “weren’t supposed” to compete with on paper, the Falcons embraced the challenge—and delivered. The game was tight from start to finish, with both teams trading momentum in the kind of competitive matchup every team wants to be part of. Clinton-Massie’s success came from total team effort. Crisp ball movement on offense and a relentless mindset kept everyone locked in and “in the fight” for all four quarters. Sophomore goalie Fischer Lance came up big between the pipes, making several clutch saves that kept the Falcons within reach and ultimately gave them a chance late. Offensively, Isaac Young led the way with five goals, while Carson Long and Corban Cartner each added two goals to round out the scoring. With the game on the line, it was Young again who delivered. With just 35 seconds remaining, Young buried a shot into the upper corner for the game-winner, sealing the 9-8 victory and capping off a huge night for the Falcons. Clinton-Massie now turns its attention to Monroe, as the Falcons return home Friday looking to build on the momentum.
