Clinton-Massie Junior Varsity Falcons delivered a complete team performance on Wednesday, shutting out the Batavia Junior Varsity Bulldogs 4-0 at Clinton-Massie High School. Behind a strong outing from both pitchers and aggressive play on the bases, the Falcons controlled the game from start to finish. On the mound, Levi Davidson and Eli Akers teamed up for the shutout effort. Akers got the start and set the tone early, working five scoreless innings while allowing just one hit. He struck out two and worked around traffic, issuing six walks but consistently escaping trouble. Davidson came on in relief and shut the door, recording the final outs—including a groundout to end the game—to secure the save. Clinton-Massie wasted no time getting on the board. In the bottom of the first inning, Kaiden Sherwood sparked the offense with an RBI double to give the Falcons a 1-0 lead. They continued to build momentum in the second inning, capitalizing on timely hitting and pressure on the defense. Akers singled to left, Cy Franks followed with a base hit down the line, and another run crossed the plate on a wild pitch to extend the lead to 4-0. Offensively, the Falcons showed balance throughout the lineup. Kenton Noggle, Akers, Sherwood, Cooper Dillion, Jackson McGraw, Franks, and Lelind Stiles each recorded a hit. Akers, Sherwood, and Franks drove in runs, while Noggle and Akers created havoc on the base paths with multiple stolen bases each. In total, Clinton-Massie racked up eight stolen bases, consistently putting pressure on Batavia’s defense. Defensively, the Falcons were flawless. Clinton-Massie did not commit a single error, with Akers leading the way in the field by handling six chances cleanly. Batavia managed just two hits on the day, coming from Elijah Weisbrodt and Axton Stith. Despite drawing seven walks as a team—led by Greyson Kern and Steel Peavley with two each—the Bulldogs were unable to capitalize. Batavia’s defense turned a double play, but it wasn’t enough to slow the Falcons’ momentum. Clinton-Massie Junior Varsity Falcons will look to carry this strong performance into their next matchup as they travel to New Richmond on Monday.
