Clinton-Massie Varsity Baseball powered past Blanchester 12-5 on Tuesday, fueled by a dominant offensive performance from Andrew Smith, who went a perfect 5-for-5 at the plate. Smith led the charge with a triple, double, and three singles, sparking a 16-hit effort for the Falcons. He also drove in three runs, matching teammate Brett Gray for the team lead in RBIs. After a quiet start, Clinton-Massie broke through in the third inning when an error allowed the game’s first run to score. Blanchester responded in the fourth, tying the game behind a triple from Braxton Short and a productive out by Matt Adkins. The Falcons regained momentum in the fifth inning when Smith delivered an RBI single to make it 4-3. However, the Wildcats answered right back in the bottom half, taking a brief 5-4 lead after RBI singles from Cameron Vogel and Cooper Reynolds. That would be the last time Blanchester held the advantage. Clinton-Massie erupted in the sixth inning, plating four runs to take control of the game. Logan Jenks, Will Creech, and Smith each delivered doubles in the inning, helping push the Falcons ahead 8-5. The offense continued to apply pressure late to secure the 12-5 victory. On the mound, Ryan Anderson started for Clinton-Massie, working 4.2 innings while allowing five runs on six hits and striking out five. Noah Gorman earned the win in relief, tossing 2.1 innings of one-hit, shutout baseball with one strikeout. Offensively, Colton Fite and Gorman joined Smith and Gray with multiple-hit performances as the Falcons stayed aggressive at the plate. Defensively, Clinton-Massie was flawless, committing no errors, with Jackson Doyle leading the way with six fielding chances. For Blanchester, Short led the offense with two RBIs, while Mobley and Reynolds each collected two hits. Reynolds also added two stolen bases. Clinton-Massie will look to keep the momentum going as they return home Wednesday to take on Greenview.
