Clinton-Massie rode a dominant performance on the mound from Logan Jenks and a hot night at the plate to a 10-3 victory over Western Brown on Thursday. Jenks was in control from the start, striking out 11 batters over six innings of work. The right-hander allowed just four hits and three runs while working around four walks to keep the Broncos off balance all night. Will Creech came on in relief and shut the door with a scoreless inning, striking out one and allowing no hits. The Falcons wasted no time getting on the board, putting up five runs in the bottom of the first inning. An early error opened the door before Corey Frisch added a sacrifice fly. Noah Gorman followed with a two-run single, and Creech capped the inning with an RBI double to give Clinton-Massie a commanding early lead. The offense stayed aggressive in the second inning, adding five more runs on seven hits. Andrew Smith drove in a run with a double, and Jackson Doyle delivered the big swing of the inning with a two-run home run to left field. Gorman continued his strong night with an RBI double, and another run crossed on a fielder’s choice to push the lead to 10-0. Clinton-Massie finished with 14 hits on the night, led by Gorman’s 3-for-4 performance and three RBIs from the seven spot in the lineup. Frisch, Doyle, and Creech each added multiple hits as the Falcons consistently pressured Western Brown’s pitching staff. The Falcons were just as aggressive on the bases, swiping six bases, including two from Doyle. Defensively, Clinton-Massie also turned a key double play to limit scoring opportunities. Western Brown was led by Carter Saylor, who drove in two runs, while Zander Hamilton, Sammy Gravel, Saylor, and Aiden Hatter each recorded a hit. With the win, Clinton-Massie builds momentum heading into its next matchup, as the Falcons will host Goshen on Monday.
